JORDY SMITH
Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Jordy Smith was introduced to surfing at the age of three by his father, legendary board shaper Graham Smith. With power, style, and creativity, Jordy quickly rose through the ranks, winning the World Junior Championship and the World Qualifying Series in 2007 before joining the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour.
Since then, Jordy has become one of the sport’s most dynamic and consistent performers. With eight Championship Tour victories, including iconic wins at J-Bay, Trestles, Rio, Bells Beach, El Salvador, and Margaret River, he has established himself as one of the sport’s most consistent World Title contenders. After nearly two decades on tour, Jordy remains a fan favorite for his explosive turns, progressive aerials, and ability to adapt in all conditions.
A member of Team O’Neill since 2008, Jordy balances life on tour with family in South Africa, where he lives with his wife Lyndall and their two sons. Whether competing on the world stage or free surfing at home, Jordy embodies the spirit of O’Neill: pushing limits while staying true to his roots.
"I DIDN’T GROW UP IN THE WEALTHIEST NEIGHBORHOOD AND IT LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT IF YOU WANT ANYTHING, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT."

O’Neill and Jordy join forces to bring attention to the Surfers Not Street Children organisation, where at-risk kids can find a healing space and safe place to play. We bring change through the power of surfing.
